First look at the 15.4-inch Apple MacBook Pro (2017)

All new with the current 15.4-inch Apple MacBook Pro (2017) is hidden inside. Now a laptop with a strong design can be equipped with even a Kaby Lake generation processor. In addition, it uses a discrete graphics card AMD Radeon Pro 560. All this essentially raises the level of performance of the MacBook and makes it possible even more flexibility when choosing the scenario for using this laptop.

However, the weak places still have limited connectivity and high cost.

In the MacBook Pro 15.4 (2017) in terms of design and display nothing has changed. On the screen with a 15.4-inch diagonal and a resolution of 2880×1800 pixels, we measured the contrast of 189: 1, the maximum brightness of 466.9 cd / m2 and the optimal illumination distribution for image processing. As usual, the surface of the display is not anti-glare, but at very high brightness of the screen, this circumstance will hardly be disturbed the user.

Sensory OLED panel as a second display is perceived by us hard, but it, of course, is an impressive addition. In particular, through this Touch Bar you can quickly get to useful functions without going through the menu of programs. In addition, this touch panel can be personalized depending on personal preferences.

Finally, the MacBook also began installing the current processors of the Kaby Lake generation from Intel – it’s about Core i7-7820HQ with a clock speed of 2.9 GHz. This processor is accompanied by 16 GB of RAM. In addition, there is integrated a dedicated graphics card AMD Radeon Pro 560. As a data carrier using a very fast SSD-drive with a capacity of 512 GB.

Thanks to all this, the MacBook becomes a true universal, and it does not matter what tasks it will be delivered to: multimedia content playback, video editing or gaming. In favor of the largest laptop from Apple, says the duration of battery life in the mode of video playback, which is 8 hours 36 minutes.

The weak point of the laptop remains the proposed choice of options for connecting peripherals. Already in the MacBook lineup in 2016, Apple refused to use multiple interfaces: a gigabit LAN port, HDMI-out, and even a card reader is not here.

Nevertheless, the MacBook Pro still has 4 x USB 3.1 Gen.2 Type-C Thunderbolt, which with the help of an appropriate adapter can replace all missing interfaces. Wireless communications in this model of the MacBook Pro are carried out via Bluetooth 4.2 and WLAN-ac-adapter.
